How can Christians supposedly be anti-gay when almost all denominations support gay rights?

The Unitarian Church is currently the primary organ of support for gay marriage. The Episcopalian,Presbyterian, and Lutheran Churches have always been strong supporters of gay rights. Where did this idea get started that Christians are "against" gay rights when we've consistently been it's strongest supporters? When did tv evangelists supposedly acquire authority over the majority denominations? News to me. Do you think there might be better sources of gays & Christianity than tv? You know - like a library, maybe? Not to make an atheist throw up by suggesting he/she actually read a book...
