Wife has Issues with my Daughter?

This is my second marriage and my wife is really starting to behave irrationally towards my daughter from my first marriage. My daughter is 22 and she & I have always been very close. She's a great person, doesn't really drink, extremely dependable & is working on her master degree at college. She is a bit of a homebody, but does go out occasionally with her few friends she has. When she comes home, she will usually spend the whole time at home and that's where the issue comes in with my wife. Her opinion is that kids her age should not be seen or heard, they should either stay in their room all day or be out all night. Well, my daughter would rather stay home or come downstairs and watch TV with us(she does this very rarely). and my wife will ALWAYS start in on me about this. Why doesn't she go out, go partying, etc. She considers the time she comes home to stay, our time together.doing stuff. I really don't understand her thinking. God forbid should I go and do something with my daughter(take her for a ride on my motorcycle, go shopping with her). My wife says it isn't right to be doing these thing with her father..it would be ok it she did it with her mother...I have to say my daughters mother left us for some guy 6 six years ago and lives 2 -3 hours away and very rarely sees her. My wife has said she feels she is in competition with my daughter for my attention...which is the farthest thing from the truth there is. She has two children from her previous marriage and she spends time with her daughter and grand daughter every Thursday and I don't have any issues with that at all. My friends have daughters and they still do things with them.....What is wrong with occasionlly spending time with your 22 year old daughter... I really am at a loss as to where to go from here. Am I wrong in spending 1 on 1 time with my 22 year old daughter, riding my motorcycle, going out shopping with her, etc.?? I'm at my wits end on this.......
